  • Re: To a Chinese forum

We would rather you keep the chat on LTBcoin focused here, and if there is a big demand we'll build the system in such a way that it can support multiple languages and multi-language bloggers.

  • Re: LTBCoin=GloballShare+Coin2+Faircoin

I'm not actually familiar with any of those coins, can you summarize each?

  • Re: Ukraine, Bitcoin, and History

Ever watch the news when somebody has set themselves on fire at a public building?  It's happened a few times in the states over the last couple years, and happens elsewhere in the world with more frequency.
When a person chooses this as their preferred action, it is because it is the best of their available options as they perceive those options.   You only do it if you have completely given up hope and the sheer injustice of it all compared to your inability despite best efforts or intentions is enough to both demoralize and spur action.  It does not happen often, but when it does if it is a non-crazy person it speaks to something very broken in society.
The important part though, is the perception of the individual making the decision.  An alternative is only helpful if they are aware of it, and so is the case with Ukraine and many others.  We can help explain, show them the way with our success but we can't dictate a solution to them.   They need to arrive at it, and it needs to be obvious.
And it will be.  Probably not for Ukraine, not yet - but it's the painful, hair-on-fire experiance of Ukraine just as Cyprus before it that shows the world why a better way is so desperately needed.  The horrible warning that demands the evocation of many shining examples.

  • Re: LTBnetwork – Understanding Content Distribution and Hosting

At this time we'll be starting with a centralized server, but I believe we should devote resources to having the LTB network distributed through decentralized means.
the "network" is basically a framework and backend market that individuals fit themselves into by running shows and blogs.  Storage and archiving will be an important part of the infrastructure function.

  • Re: DACIndex.com Metacoins, Crypto 2.0 and User Created Asset Index

I think we should seperate out Platform Metacoins (NXT, XCP, MSC, BTS) that allow the creation of other coins on top from all the user created assets that will trade on them.
To start an NXT and XCP asset will not be directly cross-tradable, so it would be good to list User Created Assets by both Platforms and our weighted index numbers.
While all the numbers are important and great to have, I think there needs to be a very simple single number that we determine represents a fair index value for all metacoins and all user created assets on top of them.  That will be the primary number people quote when talking about the 2.0 market broadly.
Other things that should be on the front page are the top 100 metas and assets (re-sortable by a variety of factors, but default ranked by our weighted index) - I think for this mixed-list view, different types of coins should be visually different.  So Metacoins might have a greek looking slab of granite with their info embossed on it, where a user created asset might look more like a paper ticket.   I think there will be a bunch of different designators, community coins, charity coins, fundraiser coins but right now it's only metacoins, not even a user created asset yet.
Also we need to move away from CoinMarketCap sooner or later, do you have any thoughts on that?
I'm thinking this project will have some sort of premium feature built into it, maybe a rank-by-donation page and probably its own little token.  That token is how we'll compensate people, so everybody who put good work into the project gets some piece of the end result, or can sell their claim.    I am doing several projects like this, I think they're the first such ones being attempted which is just fascinating to me.

  • [ANN] LTBcoin Wallet - Help Design the Featureset, We've got a Dev!

Adam said: I am JahPowerBit of Bitcointalk.
I think LTBCoin is really an awesome idea. The kind of idea that changes things. I also think http://www.humint.is/ is a great great idea! I work in the web for 15 years, and he comes to my mind dozens of clients that could be interested .
My application is a good basis for developing custom wallets, either as a desktop application or as webwallet (it takes a bit of work, but I prefer to wait to finish well the light desktop version before starting). What I propose for LTBWallet is to prepare the list of features that you can imagine for. Even better if you have time to prepare a mockup with any tool like http://www.mockflow.com/.I prefer to leave you free to imagine the most useful and original features, rather than tell you, that's what you can or can not do. Of course I am at your disposal if you have any questions.Once I have theses informations, I will give you a time for development.
I will take care of LTBWallet in priority over everything else, because I think this is the best way to promote XCP.. and my work  ;-)
    Cheers

This email came in this morning, JahBit is the guy who has been implementing the first desktop GUI and by all accounts is one of the most qualified people to build us such a wallet.  Let's take advantage of this, propose and discuss features both for a conventional wallet but lets also think about what a web-wallet built into a website like LTB could look like.   Keep in mind the Web Wallet won't store any funds, it will just be an interface to access your funds and will be recoverable on other services besides the LTB website in the event we go down.   I NEVER want to store any funds on any LTB servers, if something needs such an application we should contract with a reliable vendor of such a service, preferably insured.

  • [ANN] The Altcoin Observer - Looking for Writers & Researchers

I'm finally starting the Altcoin Observer with michael krieger as the managing editor.
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED, JOIN THE LOOMIO GROUP FOR FURTHER DISCUSSION AND DECISIONMAKING https://www.loomio.org/d/WBPLu1Cd/the-altcoin-observer-meeting-1-start-here
The format is a different coin or user created asset each issue, two issues per month.  There is a research pool which writers and researchers contribute to for each issue and then several essays or articles are written from different perspectives on the staff as is relevant for the coin under scrutiny.   Michael Krieger then goes through and essentially annotates the work, providing context and explaining things where the average reader might not understand.
The monetization is selling subscriptions in Bitcoin, LTBcoin and dollars.  Bitcoin is the standard price, Dollars are at a premium (probably 2x) and paying with LTBcoin gets you one better tier product than the price you pay.

There are multiple SKUs of the product, ranging from very expensive at first day release to freely available in the library after 45 days.  There will probably be about 5 different release windows.    I believe this properly assesses that valuable information like this is most valuable to those who see it first and can make their purchasing decisions before the market has absorbed the new information.  This model also means that the free release is subsidized most by the people who profited most from the information, which I also enjoy.
I believe with this vehicle we can create meaningful standards in the altcoin space, cause the creation of more, better concepts and fewer bad ones since interested parties will have a good and definitive source of analysis on the topic.
I'd be looking for some of your time for research and two articles per month, what's fair as a speculative venture for a three month run?    We are only looking to fill two writing positions and three researching positions.

  • Re: DACIndex.com Metacoins, Crypto 2.0 and User Created Asset Index

    Hey Joe,
Looks great man :) Sent a tip and I've asked @schmidty to look into it when he gets some time.
Honestly the current site is only designed as an MVP, if you want to start building 2.0 I'm into it, there are lots of projects!

  • Re: What are/should be the core areas that cover all of LTB's coin distribution?

Gaman said: How about fund for supporting the price of LTBcoin?

This will never happen at an institutional level, individual actors may choose it is in their best interest to try to prop up a price, But I have no intention of doing that myself.

  • Re: What are/should be the core areas that cover all of LTB's coin distribution?

I fully support a fleshing out of my somewhat handwavy ideas.
