  • Re: Here before the LTBCoin Launch? Get your part of the initial disbursement for the Initial Community

@daveb I get so worked up with enthusiasm that many times I don't have a clue what I am doing. Setting up a LTBcoin wallet is one of those times. I just feel like if I don't do it, I am going to miss out on something important. I was setting up to buy into Swarm when I realized this is the same wallet app that LTBcoin was talking about using. So, here we go.

I love that we don't have to make people use a specific wallet just for us. I can't wait to see multiwallets become the norm.

  • Re: Is LTBcoin jumping the gun??

@sile16 CounterParty was probably the right choice at the time. However, in the Asset Exchange market there are quite a few assets and much more volume on the NXT platform. It would probably be pretty painful to switch at this stage in the game but NXT while the asset exchange is technically slightly behind CP in functionality it seems to have more community and more inertia. But, from what I can tell everything that CP does today is on the roadmap for NXT.

Yeah, the reality is we are locked in with Counterparty for the time being - We've built infrastructure and tools around it.

Even today though, I would not pick NXT because they don't allow me to send another asset to people who have my asset. We are heavily leveraging this feature and I think its one of the more important ones lacking from other platforms.

@sile16 At any point in the future would people use XCP directly for exchange? Are there any technical challenges / downsides that would prevent coinbase or bitpay from accepting XCP?

Nope! Nothing preventing them. But the usefulness of XCP is that it allows for automatic trustless, blockchain escrowed p2p trading on the decentralized exchange.

  • Re: How to see my old posts?

@cryptonaut is still finishing features on the forums, that along with private messages are high on the list for the forums but behind a few LTBCOIN launch details still being handled.

  • Re: Podcast Download Issues

So.... Should we use a different file-host than Soundcloud? That might be a simple solution, but it does create the centralized podcast upload problem where we have to have someone who has trusted access to the account.

We were paying someone 900 USD/mo to manage that, our new system (which lets podcasters put their Soundcloud Track ID from their own account, which means they can manage it themselves and control their own stats)

again, the download links are there for everyone regardless of your device.... Tell me what kind of person to hire, I'm willing to throw resources at this.

  • Re: On Canada's Law To Regulate Bitcoin

The folks at Genercoin were pretty happy about being in Canada, they felt like the new rule had given them the clarity to push forward as they had planned.

It doesn't really matter how or where the first successes happen, we just need them to happen so they can be replicated and improved upon. Canada looks like the place to be in north america.

  • Re: what happened?

The forums were temporarily hosted on Vanilla while we actually supposed to move a month ago, it took three weeks to get the database from them, and then took us a bit more time to turn on the forums.

So if you registered in the last few weeks and you can't find your account, it means you registered after the snapshot but before the move. Sorry!

  • Re: Podcast Download Issues

Well I'm open to suggestions, otherwise we can just start putting direct download links in the posts. it really is just iTunes by all accounts, and only some mobile devices - desktop iTunes still works.

  • Re: Podcast Download Issues

    Hey,

the timing of the app and the feed shift is coincidental not a conspiracy :) We hit the item limit on Feedburner (a RSS feed that is 600kb or larger stops working) so we had to do this manual fix where I started pulling earlier episodes, but it was requiring a lot of my time. Additionally, it meant all podcasts MUST go through my personal soundcloud account since that was what was generating the podcast feed.

We changed away from this and to a system where we were creating our own feed, which let us up the quality of many parts of it and make it easy for people to subscribe to any mix of shows they want. Doing this broke iTunes for what seems to be about 5% of our users. We've attempted a few fixes and for the vast majority of people it seems to work, but there are a few stragglers I have no idea how to deal with.

The app is a first iteration, 2x and skip are on the feature list but we're launching LTBCOIN at the end of the month before the next development cycle kicks into gear.
