  • What should be added to the forums?

These are already on the list, what is missing?

    • Private Messages
    • "Show all unread"
    • "Show all replies"
    • "Show all subscribed threads"
    • I also would like the design to be a little "tighter", lot of space between posts and topics
    • Search Function
    • User Configurable Timezone

    What else?

  • Re: What is JEDI?

    @mich

@coinfire Would you rather have JEDI or SITH?

To have JEDI is to be patient, and to HODL. To have SITH is to be quick to anger, and questionable panic buys.

lol, I would tip this comment. We need to replace "likes" with tips.

I had a very disheartening conversation with the swarm guys today that I think is relevant to this conversation

  • Re: Token Quantity

Nope! no rule of thumb, at least not yet.

I like to think in terms of relative value. Do you want a Bitcoin or a Doge? Pick a number between 1 and 99 - If you want something that is very valuable, rare and traded fractionally when it matures (the easy money days are over) than stick 6 zeros behind it. (xx,000,000)

If you want to Doge it up and make people generous, stick 9 zeros behind it (xx,000,000,000)

For LTB we wanted something in the middle so picked a number (51) and stuck seven zeros behind it (510,000,000)

When thinking about who should earn the tokens and how many, look at your ecosystem and determine which groups and actions, if they were not there or were not performed, would render the platform worthless. In the case of LTB there are three groups of decending importance. Content Creators, the Audience that consumes that content, and the platform that enables both.

Do you have a particular project?

@rotalumis Just a question or two about the author's photo. Is that currently taken from the profile pic? How do we include pics of individual authors who contribute to a blog? Or is this still a WIP?

We are 100% work in progress on the blogs stuff, and it's taken a back-seat to getting the proof of participation stuff working and sorting some of the other more serious issues (like the podcast feed and asset distributor). Right now everything goes to one workflow (the LTB front page), blogs will be a layer below this and feed up to the LTB front page workflow - does that make sense?

Yes, profile photo is taken. Each user will have their own account, submit the articles and you (or your editorial) will get them in your workflow.

Is your question about multiple authors for the blog or an individual article? We currently don't have the ability to have more than one author for a piece, but I've been thinking about a way to do that that might work well.

@maygor I have bought XCP at Poloniex but I'm having problems with the withdrawal from poloniex to my counterwallet… It failed twice and don't know where the problem is... Poloniex or Counterwallet

I had problems withdrawing XCP from polo a few weeks ago. I let them know, and they suspended all withdraws. Got my XCP back about 48hrs later. Sold them, and didn't try again. But I just sold about 2000 LTBC on DEX for 5XCP. Also sold some for BTC. Counterparty is quite interesting, it's my first time experimenting with the decentralized exchange.

why do buy on an 3rd party exchange. just buy on the dex!

Because I've gotten literally dozens of comments about how difficult the dex is. The XCP devs are making the interface more like BTer, but every time you send an order on the dex you pay a bitcoin tx fee, every time you cancel you pay a bitcoin tx fee, etc. So for playing around, a centralized exchange is actually quite useful, especially before the dex is more intuitive to use.

Check your history on the counterwallet address you expect it on. It sometimes takes a long time for counterwallet to see a transaction but it shows up in your history as soon as its on the blockchain.

If you dont see it there and you didnt enter the wrong address, it's poloniex and you should email them asap.

Yesterday, my XCP withdrawal from Bter took about 9 h. Everything else (BTC, NXT, you name it) was almost instantaneous. I suspect they do them in batches.

I once had a NXT withdrawl from BTer that took three weeks and five midnight chat sessions with their support, who was very supportive but not very helpful.

Check your dashboard, you should have the "Posts" category

As I mentioned, our system is custom and still under construction so it's a bit quirky, here's a rundown of how each element works

Post Title - This is the name of the article

URL - Do not mess with this, it auto-populates based on the post title

Author - Unless you run a blog, this will always be your name, or the name of the primary author if you are editing a piece.

    Post Status

    Three options

    • Draft - Work in progress

    • Ready for Publication - Locks you from further changes, flags an editor - The editor can throw it back into draft, and soon you'll be able to request it go back to draft.

    • Published - If the Publish Date/Time has already passed, that means it is live on the front page. If the publish date/time has not yet occurred

Featured - This is a checkbox you might not be able to see, it means your Featured Image is used instead which takes up 2 boxes worth of space on the front page. This is rarely used and is really just the start of our user curation system.

Publish Date/Time The date/time it will show as published. Can be forward-dated or back dated. Please set your time as you see fit, eventually there will be a "Slot" availability system that shows you where the publication vacancies are but that's a bit out :)

Featured Image (600x372) - Used if your article is featured. NOT REQUIRED

Cover Image (400x400) - Used if your article is published, REQUIRED FOR ALL POSTS

Excerpt - This is the first text box - it is NOT USED IN OUR CURRENT DESIGN - people often mistake this for where they should put their article, and it's wrong.

Content - This is the second text box, it is where you should compose and format your article

Categories - Pick one or two, tags are coming later.

Bitcoin Tipping Address - If you already have one in your profile this will autopopulate.

Soundcloud Track ID - If you have an audio report or podcast, you put in the "Track ID" which is a number you get from looking at the soundcloud embed code (click the share button on the desired track, then embed) - It will look something like 150028193, paste that into the Soundcloud Track ID field.

Audio URL (overrides soundcloud url) - If you do not use Soundcloud

Audio Byte Length (leave this - it autopopulates if you do not use soundcloud)
