  • Re: The forum has changed for the better because of LTBcoin

@spengler It seems to me that there has been a significant increase in activity on the forum since LTBcoin has been launched. Not only that - the quality of the posts has been far superior to what I suppose people may have suspected. People could have ended up posting crap just to get a share of the LTBcoin distribution, but on the whole I haven't noticed such a phenomenon. Everything appears to be coming nicely into place, and the platform is going to be improved (according to another thread.

The LTB Network is of high quality and I think it will only get better. I suppose Mr. Levine is keeping a close eye on things. I would be interested to know from a more objective perspective how things are going in terms of network effect and overall growth.

Even if @adam doesn't make it onto lists like this (for being a rich media mogul), I hope LTB will grow enough to have a highly significant mainstream impact and to improve the world.

(By the way, I believe it is obvious to anyone who would be reading this that the content spread by the LTB Network, if it reaches enough people, can only have a positive effect on the world. Am I right?)

Our web presence has never been very large but activity per user went way up, 200-300% increase as soon as LTBCOIN started.

Thanks for your comments, running out the door or I'd respond more in-depth

  • Re: Crowdfund an LTBcoin Project

    @matt @deweller @adam

Given the low volumes & price we're seeing with exchanging LTBcoin right now, maybe it might be ideal to fund the first few in Bitcoin or XCP? Thoughts?

Depends on the type of project - Imagine this will more like bounties, so you propose an idea, we collect funds and when you deliver the project or the milestone the community says "Yes!" and releases that portion of the funds.

The funds are IMO (@deweller can correct me) not intended to "finance" the project so much as reward it.

Eventually LTBCOIN will be a "fundraising" token once it has a mature ecosystem, but right now we're all bootstrapping with this token so this just seems like another way to do that without requiring the LTB schedule to acknowledge the project and adapt to every one.

  • Re: 728x90 Leaderboard Advertisement

@robmitchell What I don't understand is, how would a blog like @Coinfire be part of @Adam's LTB network (and have you two worked something out yet?). Does LTB simply include new posts by Coinfire on the home page, when a new article is posted? Would an article link on the LTB home page go to the Coinfire site, would the article be simultaneously be posted both places, or does Coinfire have to resign their existing site to come live on the LTB site?

If this is discussed in another thread, please let me know! I'm just not getting how an existing blog would integrate with the LTB network.

Basically letstalkbitcoin.com is a front page fed by one blog. Coinfire.cf is another blog. If we move Coinfire.cf onto the LTB platform, it can also feed the front page (or a different one, say just for breaking news, or it can populate a specific column for news etc.

Running a blog on LTB will essentially auto-submit all your articles to the front page, and the ones that are approved will earn their share of LTBC

Now, for something like news which is much faster pace we might actually want to break off a chunk of content allocation and say "25% of content funds are devoted to breaking news stories"

We don't want to become a just breaking news network, but this could be a nice synergy and the participating blogs gain all the features we're developing on the platform basically as we develop them.

  • Re: Whats your price for LTBCOIN?

    yup, rotalumis nailed it.

  • Re: Counterwallet

@jj44ones Is there a wallet for Mac OS X?

Right now counterwallet.co is the only really usable wallet. Because LTBCOIN is built on Bitcoin, installing a "full" wallet requires a complete re-indexing of the bitcoin blockchain while it essentially checks for any relevant data that is not used by bitcoin, but is used by counterparty.

It takes like 24-48hrs to do this re-indexing, so the web wallet (which is a terminal style, it essentially lets you access your account on the blockchain without holding any of your private info) is much more used.

In time this will change, Counterwallet is just the first and best tool available for our needs.

  • Re: LTBCoin and the start of Private Network Tokens

@jj44ones Will this coin have anonymous features, keeping your funds private, such as Vertcoin?

Nope, LTBCOIN is a user created asset built with Counterparty on top of Bitcoin.

  • Re: So how does this work now after the initial distribution

You can see the schedule at http://ltbcoin.com, we're giving away millions of LTBC every saturday for the next several months, the amounts decrease by 1% each week for the first year.

  • Re: 2.25 million LTBC going out to folks with more than 5 forum posts (and an address on file) imminently - thanks for playing! next distribution tomorrow

@jj44ones Is it too late to make the 5 post thing?

Nope! still another 6m or so to be given out to the 5-post thing
