  • Re: kickstarting

    @torstenendofmoney We have been lucky with our Kickstarter campaign (documentary) but have been reading a lot about services like Swarm/Lighthouse/....

    I think what you have to think about is how much 'commitment' would your supporters have towards your project. Do they REALLY want equity? Be a long-term partner? Do they REALLY have an interest in your long-time success? Most often I think the answer is no. supporters just want a DVD of a film, the album as mp3 download or some service.

    just my 2 cents

    Really you're talking about the difference between Reward based crowdfunding vs. equity crowdfunding. I think you're right, most kickstarter style campaigns don't want equity funding which has real repercussions, but that's not to say you can't do reward based with a token. I think thats where the short term innovation will be, quite excited about it really.

  • Re: SWARM.XCP - Swarm Coin.

    @markrodneygardnergmailcom Oh.. I found the Swarm... This is what I have been looking for. So, is there a way to search on subjects on these forums? Also, how do I hide my email address when I post??

    Search will be in over the weekend, and the issue with your username is that you set it as your email, I pinged the dev but you might just have to re-make your account with the username you want.

  • Re: iOS app - Usability Improvements

    Its just a bandwidth issue for me right now, haven't had time to get the update to the ios app rolling or the android one spec'd out.

  • Re: LTBcoin for Newbies - Under Construction

    @markrodneygardnergmailcom How do I change my forum name so it doesnt show my full email address?

    I pinged @cryptonaut about it because I can't change your username with my admin account. if he can't fix it you'll have to re-register under the name you want.

  • Re: [10000 LTBC Brainstorm] My Grand Plan and How should we market the LTB Network?

    It does work like that, it's just another way of thinking about it and certainly talking about it.

  • Re: What skills do you have? What type of team are you looking for?

    @matt @adam

    I think this type of stuff needs to be incorporated into users profiles and provide a way to easily search for users with particular skills.

    great idea. this would make things easier, but that still wouldn't solve the problem to 'find' specific skills. So a solution should offer a way how to search for "copywriting" or "web design" skills among users.

    This will be built into our system - basically you'll be able to "opt in" as an audio editor, text, editor, proofreader, etc. and when someone wants that type of work done they'll either send a specific request along with their needs (with a LTBc % of amount offer) to a specific person, or look through the list of currently available people with those skills and their "normal" rates

  • Re: Exclusive Interview: Sam Lee - Silk Road auction hacking victim

    I'll take it - It's pretty short but its high quality and ready, how about 15k LTBc? I'd like to include it on Tuesdays episode 127

  • Re: Dubble posts? Search?

    @cryptonaut ping

    @puggan just add a google-search-bar somewhere, until you done with your own.

    for exemple, just dump this html somewhere:

    <script> (function() { var cx = '003450230684201614891:tdhwchbmzv0'; var gcse = document.createElement('script'); gcse.type = 'text/javascript'; gcse.async = true; gcse.src = (document.location.protocol == 'https:' ? 'https:' : 'http:') + '//' + cx; var s = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; s.parentNode.insertBefore(gcse, s); })(); </script> <gcse:search></gcse:search>

  • Re: Dubble posts? Search?

    @puggan Are you referingt to the "site:"-parameter in google searhces, to find post about "search" for exemple:

    "search site:"

    Search is coming soon, we were delayed because of the crisis with the podcast feed not working properly. We're in early days, which is why there are fewer people here and thus the LTBCOIN is spread to those who are willing to help us even in these early days :)

  • The Red Pill Episode

    This is your last chance. After this, there is no turning back. You take the blue pill – the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill – you stay in Wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes. Remember, all I'm offering is the truth – nothing more.

    Reading the thread about telling friends about bitcoin etc, it seems to me the problem is context. People do not understand the basics and so do not see the reason to learn the specifics. I'm interested in thinking through what some sort of packaged, paced "red pill" CD, Episode-set or introduction would be worthwhile - I think again we would want to target commuters since they're more likely to sit through it if it's well produced.

    We've never been good at that, what pieces of data are important to people who have no clue? What words shut off listeners, I would argue things like "Liberty" is one such and most of the libertarian claimed concepts are.

    I'm a big fan of perceptual marketing, you tailor the message for the audience so as to fill in the blanks in their understanding and make it trivial for them to do the final dot-connecting themselves within their own head.

    What do you think?
