  • Re: Could the LTB model be applied to a subreddit?

Yes, and I believe people are already doing that with reddcoin aren't they? The problem with anything like reddit is it has to be bootstrapped on top. We built our system from scratch to have all these things be very easy and natural to integrate.

We are going to be developing tools and probably a SaaS solution for legacy websites that want some of the awesome features we're developing.

Have you seen Token Controlled Viewpoint yet? Just wait a week ;)

  • Re: [NEW SHOW FORMING - APPLICANTS NEEDED] NAME THAT BLOCKCHAIN!

@therealtwig @Adam I think this is a great idea and am very interested in the researcher role, either as a double checker or a question writer. My background is in mathematics and education, and I have been a teacher and curriculum developer for the past ten years.

I believe I can write very effective questions and put in the research to do so. Please let me know if there is any other information you would like to know about me in filling this role. Thanks!

Good enough for me, we might bring on someone else to have you collaborate with.

  • Re: [NEW SHOW FORMING - APPLICANTS NEEDED] NAME THAT BLOCKCHAIN!

Did you want to take a whack at timekeeper? or just making funny :)

  • Re: Referral Program?

We are implementing a very neat one, stay tuned!

  • Re: [NEW SHOW FORMING - APPLICANTS NEEDED] NAME THAT BLOCKCHAIN!

Right now I'm the creator and publisher, I'll fill whatever roles we have a hard time populating.

You can take community manager role.

  • [NEW SHOW FORMING - APPLICANTS NEEDED] NAME THAT BLOCKCHAIN!

Name That Blockchain is a new, experimental show on the LTB network. It will utilize a new token (NAMETHAT) which is non-divisible and which will only be released to those who use their LTBc or bitcoin to purchase them from one of our fixed price vending machines.

    The cost will be 1 LTBc = 1NAMETHAT or .0001btc = 1NAMETHAT.

You'll also be able to acquire NAMETHAT through any person who has it and wants to give it to you, or from any markets that independently choose to list it.

You may use your NAMETHAT to support a particular team for inclusion on the show. Each episode the top two teams are selected based on audience support, they then face off in our exciting(?) new game - Name That Blockchain!

So leading up to an episode, fans acquire NAMETHAT and send it to their favorite teams address. When its time for another episode the teams with the two highest amounts are selected. Whichever team wins gets their tokens back and gets 50% of the losing fans tokens so their team can play again next time without economic forces pushing them out. A winning team can keep playing until it loses, then the community will take some time to recover their resources.

The other 50% of the funds from the losing community go to the staff of the show for that episode.

    The Team So Far

    The Show

Name that blockchain is a pre-recorded Minimum-Viable-Product of an educational gameshow mixed with token/audience engagement concepts.

There are more than 500 altcoins out there, it's insane. On Name That Blockchain we'll look for the best of the best who can sort, categorize and identify the specific altcoin from clues slowly released with both teams competing against each other and the clock.

Each show will be two rounds of 5 questions plus a lightning round if a tie-breaking situation occurs.

    The Roles

Role 1 - Producer Keeps the show on the road - Basically this is an "Enabler" role, find the roadblocks and remove them to keep things moving and on schedule

Role 2 - Time-keeper (On Air) This is a walk-on role, you show up and be engaging - watch the clock closely and give updates at appropriate times (this will all be mapped out)

Role 3 - Researcher Create the questions, double check the answers.

Role 4 - Token Engineer Manage the various wallets and flows of tokens in our system. You will in fact likely create this system.

Role 5 - Community Manager You'll be the face of the show most users engage with.

Role 6 - Main Host You'll be the voice and face associated with the show, you'll ask the questions, chat up the contestants and proclaim the winners.

Role 7 - Editor You'll take the raw product, edit and produce it so it shines like a finished product.

Role 8 - Sponsor Relations (Bizdev) You'll get the word out about sponsors and bring in new players to our ecosystem.

    The Responsibilities

Role 1 - Producer Keeps the show on the road - Basically this is an "Enabler" role, find the roadblocks and remove them to keep things moving and on schedule.

Role 2 - Time-keeper (On Air) This is a walk-on role, you show up and be engaging - watch the clock closely and give updates at appropriate times (this will all be mapped out)

Role 3 - Researcher (Possible two) Create the questions, double check the answers.

You'll be responsible for developing an index of tokens with multiple fact based clues used in-game to identify each. You'll be responsible for determining the best criterias to base clues on.

Role 4 - Token Engineer You will manage all of the Vennd.io installations and what servers are required outside of the LetsTalkBitcoin.com provided ones. You'll be responsible for creating and managing the Nomination addresses, sponsor tokens, prize tokens monitoring and maintaining the backend systems to support those as needed.

Role 5 - Community Manager You'll be responsible for managing the forum presence, interfacing in the chat room, creating contests and initiatives and acting as the liason for the community to the rest of the staff, communicating things that work, things that don't and keeping everybody in touch with reality..

Role 6 - Main Host You'll be the voice and face associated with the show, you'll ask the questions, chat up the contestants and proclaim the winners.

This will not be a scripted role, you'll get questions and notes about the sponsors but other than that it's pretty an on-your-feet gig. You'll be responsible for keeping the contest moving, while keeping it light and fun. You dont have to be a TV gameshow how, but you do have to be engaging.

Role 7 - Editor You'll be responsible for implementing the audio design of the show to spec, cutting any flubs, tightening up long silences and excessive verbal clutter and attaching (and potentially designing) the intro/outtros.

Role 8 - Sponsor Relations (Bizdev) FIND SPONSORS, GET MONEY! WIN GAME!?

    The Rewards

200,000LTBc from my personal stash as a reward for successful launch of the pilot episode. Each role is worth 25k, you can take on at most two roles and if you do them poorly and I need to do it for you or we have to replace you, whomever performs the role gets the reward.

The ongoing reward is a share of the 50% NAMETHAT donated by the losing supporters to the platform that gave their team its opportunity.

Now accepting applications, no experience required but you do need to be able to perform the role.

  • Re: Podcast tracking

@kylerk In this weeks episode you announced the Magic Word idea. You said that there would likely be 48hr time span to redeem the proof-of-listening. I would request that you extend that to something more like 96 hours, or the time between episode of LTB.

Unless there is a really good argument for why 48hrs is better then 96, I'd like to here the reasoning.

No hard and fast reason, the thought is the longer the prize is redeemable the more non-listeners will somehow discover and game the system.

  • Re: Adam's Process

@kylerk All the effort definitely broadcasts through to the listener. It's quite the endeavour.

Honestly it sounds like more work than it is. I've done hundreds of episodes and it's all very second nature to me.

Thanks though! I am enjoying creating a high quality product, and as soon as I get andreas to use his $400 mic we'll all sound awesome!

  • Re: Adam's Process

@btcrevel Wow... be careful not to burn out! I hope you'll gradually find the best people to whom you can delegate even more of your work, so you can focus on the main important parts... find the good questions...

My kudos for all this hard, great and innovative work!

I burn out every few months, it's my process. I'm getting better at moderation as we go

  • Re: Adam's Process

    @robmitchell 300-1500 edits?! Wow!

Out of curiosity, what audio software do you all use?

I use adobe audition, and in general I have found the Creative Cloud package to be a real value for the money.
