@cryptonaut @jsea right, I just meant that currently on the LTB site, we are only tracking XCP/Counterparty tokens, so there is no way yet to create a TCV forum using a token that only exists in Clearinghouse or other XCP fork.

Yes, I read that thanks. I'm thinking about a token that exists on both platforms, token XCP to create the TCV forum and for members joining the TCV and token XCH for well, everything else.

    Thanks for the input

Ah yeah, I see. Stuff like that is why we need a "Crossparty Protocol" that lets assets be moved from one version of Counterparty to another, almost like sidechains :)

I'm not sure that it's technically feasible same for sidechains nice theory but not really a viable working solution, least for now. I think a multi protocol wallet solution would be useful something like IM + All in one messenger only with an added All in one wallet feature :)

@jsea meh, I have hope that its possible :P although I have caused my brain to implode several times from trying to think of a feasible solution to it lol.

One problem with something like a multi-wallet that handles several different types of coins/blockchains is that each new coin adds significant overhead. Extra servers, whole new blockchain you have to download and continuously monitor etc.. definitely doable though, just expensive resource wise

Yes it's doable, exchanges have multi wallets, I'm not giving this too much thought but think something that integrates say counterwallet, clearwallet and dogeparty wallet would be useful. Nice if there was something that could at least display account balances in one spot without having to login to each individually.

Indeed, that would be very cool. Im still crossing my fingers for someone to come up with a "CrossParty Protocol", which would allow assets to be transferred from one network to another, sort of like the Sidechains concept :p

I was thinking about buying some XCH, but I read somewhere that the 'burning' address is owned by the devs!! I have no ethical issues with that, but I just don't think it gives the same incentive for the devs to produce something of worth, that's all. I bought some of those BitBay tokens instead in the end, not that their ICO was any better TBH, perhaps more honest than a fake burn though!

Does anyone know if it's true that the XCH devs own the burning address?

@jsea Would like to gauge peoples interest here in a Clearinghouse XCH token reward project

To begin, please could I ask, how many have a Clearinghouse Clearwallet ?

I took a punt when the wallet was released, just put about 0.5 BTC worth, of coins and haven't used it since, will see if the value goes up in the future.

They did not do a true burn, but saved the via for "development." I believe.

I don't think there was anything fake about the burn if you look on the forum thread in the Q&A it clearly says what would happen to the converted VIA. The term 'Burning' might give the wrong Impression but it was made clear that it was an irreversible conversion along with what the coins would be used for. It was even referred to as a 'fire sale' at one point.

"Q: What happens to the viacoins that I do convert to XCH? A: They go to fund future development of ClearingHouse. "

To me, it makes perfect sense that funding future development is essential for a project, gives me confidence that the project has long term goals. Also it's important to understand that developers are constantly sharing their work in the open source arena. Robby Dermody aka xnova has publicly commended the Viacoin dev, btcdrak for contributions to the ecosystem.

Where's the sense in sending coins to an unusable address ?

Where's the sense in sending coins to an unusable address ?

I was jumping to conclusions when I called it a fake burn.

I believe the sense in burning coins is down to perspective - obviously to some it is a total waste of resources, to others it puts great faith in the devs knowing they must believe in the future prospects of the 'coin'. It's just another aspect that factors in to the market evaluation of a coin.

Obviously, I like the XCP model right now, particularly because I happen to own xcp :D
