this idea i think is counter productive in terms of spreading the message. We want to expose people to the ideas of cryptocurrency not preach to the choir.

Nah, it would just complicate the adding/listening process and hence its listenerbase would decrease substantially. Just look at the paywalled newspaper sites that are struggling.. Whats better, have 10 people listening to your podcast but they pay 5c and episode or have 10 million that buy from the advertisers or pay $1 every now and then as a donation? I know what I'd prefer0 likes

My view would be to keep it as is for the time being as it keeps most people around to get the next episode. If there was a pay for special content I think most people would just walk from the network. One option might be a pay to get an ad free version of the podcast if people are really in that big of a rush. However at this point I dont mind the ads as it lets you know about newer sites/services in the bitcoin ecosystem and there arent very many of them.0 likes

I'm going with no...for now. The focus should be to encourage growth of the ecosystem first...this just becomes a barrier (albeit slight) to information.
That being said the production quality is fantastic and I certainly hope that compensation, in some form, does materialize for Adam and the creators of this content.0 likes

Since I started this post I thought I would recap all comments to this point.
Proposal: Should listeners pay for some portion of LTB podcasts ? I proposed 80% free and 20% paid.
Results: Overwhelmingly the community said "no" to any paid podcasts. The main reason cited were:
- It might hinder the growth of the LTB network
- Turn off newbies to crypto
- People don't want to pay for something that is currently free.
Interesting note: The community was possibly open to the idea of a paid "bonus" section and many expressed an interest in paying for an ad free version of LTB. Some also mentioned that maybe later as the network grows to a larger size this might be feasible.
I'm really not sure myself which side of my own proposal I would lean. I want this network to succeed and I know good content isn't really "free" even though it appears to be. And I know I would have gladly paid for certain episodes that were very content rich. Paid advertising just seems so old school. I'm looking for a more efficient way to reward great content.
Thanks for everyone's comments.

Thanks for bringing this topic up. I'm glad to see people thinking outside the box. Ltbcoin opens up a lot of possibilities to try new payment methods. And there is possiblities for doing things never done before. I think at the time though this idea is too ambitious. Let's let the ecosystem grow before implementing this idea.

And the amount should be 1 LTBcoin. The reason is to establish some worth to someone's effort. I hear too much over the years of Posdcast fade where people see nothing back for their efforts and give up. Believe me I love listening for free, but also think that it is unsustainable in the long run. If someone is providing value I will try to give something back, and I have done that.0 likes
