I would never pay for the podcast, maybe something extra though

I also wouldn't pay. I think it would split the audience in a bad way.0 likes

I would pay a little bit if the podcast is high enough quality (content).0 likes

I was only thinking about paid content this morning but my idea was the complete opposite to the monthly bonus episodes. What I would like see (sorry, hear) and possibly pay for is a Daily Crypto Currency News Show. A bit like Tech News 2 Night on the Twit Network.
I often listen to shows and hear things and wished I'd heard this much earlier. I've somehow missed various crowd sales, proof of burn, etc. The daily show doesn't have to be long, say 10 to 15 minutes of the top news of the day, may be longer if a big event occurs. I appreciate that it couldn't be the same hosts everyday and that researchers are required.
Not sure if the model would support it but it would be nice if we could pay in LTBCoin in the same way sponsors are starting to do. Then if you contribute if enough to the network you don't need any addition funds. There's probably a flaw in the business model of this but as I said it was something I was thinking about today.

I think that something along these lines will manifest itself eventually, but it will be hard to get the right way of presenting it. The audience would drop off if they were under the assumption that they would have to pay to get the content they use to get for free, but I do agree that a podcast with best production and content should be rewarding accordingly. I personally love the idea of being able to participate and contribute in the community, and as a reward be able to spend it within the community. If that means bonus content, then that's great! But I wouldn't withhold a significant part of the main podcast and make people pay for it. It's a very complicated question that will require a lot of experimentation.0 likes

I would submit that it is more profitable for LTB to secure a forum user and regular listener than to secure one listener who pays for a podcast and then leaves.
Great post! I wholeheartedly agree with your post, and particularly this point. Conversion rate is everything, and I think charging for any of the base content would be absolutely terrible for getting users to follow through with account creation.0 likes
My preference would be a 100% ad-supported network, like how it is currently. Or, a subscription fee where the podcasts contain no advertisements. Currently there aren't that many ads, but if it started to become bloated then I would happily pay a fee to not listen to them.0 likes
I didn't read up on this thread, so maybe this is a repeat opinion, but I think a large portion of the Bitcoin world is generally against intellectual property. I mean maybe you could get a small number of paying subscribers, but tons of people would simply pirate the audio or just not pay and not listen. That's how I am with music. If you expected me to actually pay, then I would just not listen, and it would be a net loss for the artist.
