Just out of curiosity, is the size of the listener base being tracked to get an idea of how many people are being reached? I'd be interested to see how much it has grown in the last year compared to past.

Podcast stats are really difficult for reasons previously discussed, check the soundcloud page for any episode of LTB (click on the title in the embedded player on an episodes page) and you'll see how many people have listened to a given episode through the embedded player which counts at least plays on the page at LTB, from the built in player at the top of the front page, and from the soundcloud page.

That number is anywhere from 3k-15k depending on what episode. This does not include rebroadcasters who download a copy and serve to their users locally like technology.fm, stitcher radio, internet radio streams and others. Our content is creative commons open source so it gets used quite a few places I don't know about.

Not included in that number are subscribers who download via RSS, I think we have about 3k subscribers on the full feed.

That number used to be 7k but right about the time we peaked we had months worth of RSS issues and shed a lot of listeners during that.

Our most engaged listeners participate in the time-sensitive magic words project, on an average episode of LTB that number will be between 700-1000.

So my best guess is our actively engaged audience is about 1000, our peripheral audience is 5-15k depending largely on the price of bitcoin, the higher the price the more people get interested and go looking for new content while the lower the price goes the fewer of that type of people you get, with only the core remaining through the slow periods.

We're currently in a slow period right now, I would argue the episodes we're producing now are better than the ones we were producing a year ago and yet our numbers are substantially lower now than they were at that point.

That said, we're getting ready to do our first ever outside-the-network promotion of both the network and new shows, plus getting ready to launch a comprehensive redesign of the site that should impact usability issues which have been a major barrier to further and faster growth.

In terms of accounts on the site, we have about 8,000 user accounts with about 4,000 properly configured with LTBCOIN addresses. We delete spam accounts so the numbers aren't very inflated although as with anything else on the net it's impossible to be certain.

You can find our basic traffic at http://www.seethestats.com/site/letstalkbitcoin.com

and you can find LTBCOIN rewards program stats here

Very good :) Its well deserved to you my friend. Also speaking of podcasts, i sent an email to Steven and he got back to me already, but http://dogecoindark.net/radio/ is looking to be a LTB podcast. They are a 24 hour radio show, but at night they have live interviews that last really long. this is the show me and james went on a while back https://www.mixcloud.com/dogedradio/foldingcoin-interviewed-on-the-doged/ and they have many other guest who have come on https://www.mixcloud.com/dogedradio/

We are also setting up another podcast with them for March 27th that will include the following people (its a counterparty panel):

    • Filip Martinka - Counterparty Rep
    • Chris DeRose - CP Foundation Rep
    • Jeremy Lam - Vennd
    • Robert Ross - FoldingCoin
    • Evo Ked - Storj Rep

Their show is unique as they are really long discussions that are virtually open and normally an entire panel rather then 1 or 2 people.

Also in the near future me and another guy named Jona Derks will be looking to do a podcast centered around Counterparty and wanted to see what we need to do to make these two happen.

I listened to the episode you did with dogedark, it's a very different style than we've yet featured on LTB but I don't really have a problem with it.

have him email me and we'll start the conversation.

Thats basically the process at the moment for any show you want to start or think we should carry.
