Cryptonaut

Introducing the BOOKKEEPER token, an "access token" (using TCA) built on Counterparty which gives you access to some additional features here on the Let's Talk Bitcoin website, and potentially other uses in the future. This is an early experiment in the use of access tokens for bonus features.

By holding at least 1 BOOKKEEPER token in one of your verified BTC addresses, you can gain early access to some cryptocurrency accounting tools that are being built (hopefully in time for the tax season!).

The first of these is the "Transaction Reports" module, which will show up on your LTB account dashboard menu after refreshing your "inventory". It allows you to enter in one or more BTC addresses and receive a spreadsheet report download of all transactions sent and received to those addresses, including both Bitcoin and Counterparty transactions. You can also filter for specific tokens, for instance getting a transaction history of only items involving LTBCOIN.

To receive your BOOKKEEPER tokens, use the swapbot below:

https://swapbot.tokenly.com/bot/adam/the-ltb-networks-bookkeeper-vendor#choose

note: bot is currently inactive, will be back up soon

Feedback is welcome, and let me know if there is any issues with the TX Reports module or the token vending machine address!

For anyone who has tried to do any accounting of their Counterparty transactions, this is an amazing tool! Note that the date field will soon be updated so it's recognized as a date in spreadsheet software, so if that's important to you, wait a day or so.

    THANKS CRYPTONAUT!

Let me know if you need help with anything, I used to work very heavily with enterprise tax and accounting software and know way more about it than I ultimately would like haha.

@cryptonaut I had an odd transaction and thought you'd be interested in the result. I sent 5000 LTBCOIN and I got 2 transactions back from the bot.

The first was for 0.01086 BOOKKEEPER https://blockchain.info/tx/790a8901493445e5e73e72b99af79e6f311bf9ea67364ab5845208c8d6bbc3f5

Then immediately after was 1 BOOKKEEPER https://blockchain.info/tx/84c943479465658c0e1c9845fa17bc4c39f9d7a07f56d0c296962b89f26ac4fc

    Nice job on the tool!

One quick suggestion would be to allow picking/importing the address(es) that I have verified on the site (in Address Manager). Another would be to make the output Libratax compatible for import (if it isn't).

yeah, looks like thats a bug, probably because OP_RETURN is being used now in the latest counterparty versions instead of MULTISIG inputs, which is what the prototype vending machine code im using looks for. So basically you got 2 payments because the 5000 LTBC also comes with an output of 0.0000543 BTC, and it wasnt seeing those as the same transaction. will have to fix, nice catch

Or see if LibraTax wants to create an import filter that will calc gains/losses for every asset with one output from this new tool (otherwise, seems you'd have to output and upload every asset separately, even if formatted properly).

Hmmm, upon further thought, there's still the USD value that has to be manually entered for each Counterparty Asset transaction. I guess that would have to be done manually first (unless there's some great script that looks up the assets with values using some exchange API), before uploading to LibraTax.

LibraTax should be able to import the BTC part of these transaction simply by giving them the Counterparty/Bitcoin address.

Oh, a feature request that I assume/hope would be easy: Allow someone to enter a plain (non-counterparty) address to simply get a spreadsheet of BTC transactions. I figure it could open up interest to more people, and I haven't seen a tool like that around.

actually you are supposed to be able to do that, it includes BTC transactions already and every counterparty address is a bitcoin address, there is no difference. You can also just type in "BTC" into the "Asset Filters" part to get bitcoin only..However trying it now looks like entering an address that has 0 counterparty transactions tied to it causes a "Server error" message to pop up.. so I guess thats another bug I need to fix lol.
