    @markxmayer

    @mikerbiker6 yet another shitcoin, eroding the reputation of the altcoin space. What a shame...

    Yet another uninformed comment - eroding the reputation of the poster. What a shame...

    It is not an altcoin, it is a Counterparty token that represents voting rights in the project. It is being used as part of the funding round on SWARM.

    yeah I dont get why it seems to be difficult for some people to tell the difference between a user created metacoin (like on counterparty, mastercoin or other) and your regular alt-coin clones that has their own blockchain and network

    Technically you are right, this is not an altcoin, but it not bitcoin either. It is a token, but since it is a cryptocurrency different from bitcoin, I call it an altcoin.

    I did my research, went to the website, then you have to navigate to a different website to get your info, how pathetic! You are just hosting a protal.The trailer is well drawn but it tells me nothing about the coin itself. I have to go and read on the website, tldr. I don't have time for that, you have to attract my attention in under 30seconds or I am out, you just lost me.

    So make a super short catchphrase to attract people. Do you know why twitter posts are short, otherwise people won't read them, the same holds here.

    Mikerbiker6, i am sorry we couldn't do a better job, but I promise we did the best we could with our resources. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. This an educational Bitcoin project and we are happy we have reached 13 Bitcoins so far of 42. We believe this project will contribute to grow the community.

    Thanks, Alex

    I noticed that some of the rewards include copies of the book for "schools." Can you speak to how those copies will be distributed? How will the schools be chosen, or will they apply to get a copy? Are you thinking grade schools, high schools, colleges, or all of the above?

    Thanks Mark. It all depends on the funder. We propose to give some of the graphic novels in some rewards to educational institutions (all you mentioned and more) to allow people of all ages to get in touch with Bitcoin via the comic. But you can also decide to take them all to share them with your friends, family and loved ones. You decide with whom to share to spread the word about Bitcoin. But you could for example decide to give them to your old High School, University, etc.

    Let me know if you need anything else. Alex

    I wonder if you'd consider hosting a site to match up funders with books/tokens to donate to schools and schools that want/request the book. I'd imaging there might be some folks without anyone/anywhere to donate, and some schools that really want a copy. The idea is similar to what Cory Doctorow does, matching up donors to libraries.

    Mark, that is a great idea. Maybe what we could do is to approach Cory Doctorow (I didn't know him before but just checked). I assume that since he has a system running maybe we could use that system too. Would you be interested in contacting him?

    Thanks, Alex

    I don't think it is a "system" as such. It is just a webpage where he posts the addresses of libraries that request a copy of his books. My only connection to him is that I have read and enjoyed a number of his books. Check out this page for more info. http://craphound.com/littlebrother/donate/

    As his books are for a young adult audience and certainly involve technology, it might be interesting for you to contact him and at least inform him about your project. You never know what might come from that.
