LTB Community Roundup #1

Published on July 18th, 2014 by MikeJohnson

We've seen the Let's Talk Bitcoin community grow by leaps and bounds over the past couple of weeks. With that said, there have been a lot of really great conversations taking place. In fact, let's take a few minutes out of my busy thread surfing schedule to highlight some of these excellent posts.

Keep in mind that these aren't all of the awesome threads from Let's Talk Bitcoin this week. This is just a taste, and I encourage you to go see more for yourself! It'll be worth your time, I promise.

A community is nothing without its members and this is one of the best communities you could possibly join. I hope that you'll join us all on the boards this coming week too!

One of the coolest things that happened on the forums this week was an exchange of LTBcoin for an actual product. Everything took place out in the open for all to see, and something valuable is exchanging hands for the coin. The Get stoned, pay in LTBcoin thread featured a stone sink / bath for sale. What was the owner looking for in exchange? You guessed it, LTBcoin. Our fearless leader Adam B. Levine went ahead and purchased one. Go read the thread to see how the deal went down for yourself! You might even consider purchasing one as well. How cool is that?!

@kerneloops took a minute to remind us that we should be careful with all investments and never invest more than we can afford to lose. His thread also brought with it some good discussion about "emotional investing" which is likely worth reading over.

If you are more curious about regulation and cryptocurrency, then a thread exists just for you. A healthy debate regarding regulation in our ever booming space is taking place over there. It is good to see all sides of the argument being represented and having a fair discussion.

Some people, myself included, are interested in contributing content to Let's Talk Bitcoin. In this thread, @adam announced that now we can do just that! He also proceeds to walk you through what to expect when contributing articles to the site.

Being new to a community can always be a little scary, but like other great communities the Introduce Yourself thread is a great place to get started. This week brought a lot of activity to the thread as lots of people are joining us. I love reading these and always make it a point to read each one, even if I don't have the time to reply.

Are you more of a philosophical person? How do you feel about personal intentions? Can they be good and bad? Right and wrong? Even this topic had a thread crop up for discussion. There are some awesome points in here, and you should take a break from all of this bitcoin stuff to check it out.

There is one last forum post that I want to highlight for now. The OP asks if Bitcoin and cryptocoins resonate with millennial. Since I am technically a millennial myself (albeit barely), I am finding this thread to be rather dynamic and would love to see the discussion continue.

This isn't even close to a complete list of all of the great activity taking part on Let's Talk Bitcoin. However, I hope that you read this and are inspire to take part in our community. We've got tons of great discussions, great people, and great developments going on. Not only that, but I'm sure the next roundup will feature even more!
