Earlier this year, I met a young man while experimenting with Getgems messenger. His goal was clear: to bring awareness to his city and country about the use of Bitcoin. Philip Agyei Asare is active in his community and needs financial help to follow his dream.
Dream Bitcoin Foundation will be organizing a Bitcoin-focused event on Saturday, March 21, 2015 in Kumasi called CoinFest. We anticipate interested and motivated participants, with the focus on Bitcoin and the blockchain technology. The foundation is determined to help Cheetahs (young African entrepreneurs) seize the opportunity that Bitcoin represents. The economic repression that has enveloped Africa makes the continent one of the best places for such initiatives, and support from the global Bitcoin community will really help in educating the masses.
The foundation seeks to raise funds for projects that will bring together and build young, ambitious, and self-determined entrepreneurs, enabling them to achieve their dreams without government intervention. The foundation's primary mission is to spread the word that, for the first time ever, cryptocurrency and an inexpensive smartphone now enable unbanked entrepreneurs to transact as equals with the rest of the world.
As written on thier Facebook page:
By attending the event, you will hear from speakers in the Crypto world, receive great knowledge about Bitcoin and other Crypto-currencies, and have a lot of fun with other participants. This event will feature tremendous speakers and panels on the ideas behind a free society and the actions necessary to implement them. In addition, free meals and drinks, and an evening social event will be included for your FREE participation. Don't miss out on your chance to be a part of this great life-changing event!
This project will allow Dream Bitcoin Foundation to host the event in Ghana. The requested funding to make this a reality is as follows:
- US$150 - New high-speed internet for the foundation + various communication systems.
- US$200 - Media outreach (SMS/TV/Radio/Newspaper)
- US$150 - Design and print of promotional materials (flyers/brochures/T-shirts) for the foundation and CoinFest event.
- US$200 - food, drinks and transportation for the CoinFest event.
- Goal : US$700
Everything received beyond the goal will be used for a "Bitcoin Giveaway" during the Coinfest event so everyone who comes will leave with some Bitcoin they can experiment with. All funds donated are guaranteed to be used to advance the goals of the foundation.
Last year, they held their first ever Bitcoin Seminar on December 11, 2014. Be a part of making this year's powerful humanity-changing Coinfest event a reality by donating to the Bitcoin wallet address below:
